There are 17 Nature Parks throughout the Comunitat Valencia, including;
The Sierra Calderona Nature Park- Flanked by the Turia & Palancia river valleys, this huge expanse
stretches between the provinces of Castellon and Valencia, and includes the Portacoeli mountain range.
The area is covered in pine and cork oaks, many differing vegetation and has a large range of creatures,
from eagles and owls, to wild boar and amphibians.
The peaks of Gorbi and Gorgo provide stunning view over the region.
As well as the numerous towns and villages throughout the Camps de Turia and Moverde,
the Calderona has many historical and archaeological ruins the show it's Iberian, Roman and Moorish roots.

La Albufera Nature Park
lies directly to the south of Valencia.
Consisting of 21,000 Ha of wetland, it has 4 distinct areas- shoal, marsh, lagoon and forest.
it is best known for it rice growing. Boat trips are available
(La Albufera Car park is on the CV-500 just south of El Saler.)
